Spencer Wilson 19 of Moultrie checked with us before starting his latest bicycle project and we were able to help him get all the parts to build this really neat single speed bike. Spencer started with an old Nishiki road bike frame that was donated by Jim Soos owner of Books & More. Spencer added some Weinman Rims, and a Black Pake Crank with a white KMC Chain, add some nice Yellow striped Kenda tires and tubes and an old road bike handlebar, a seat from a bike he had at the house and he now has a really nice single speed bike. His hub is flip-flop so he can ride fixed gear or flip it over and ride freewheel.

Race Team gets new trailer.
The new trailer which will be used to take the racing team of Jason Morey, Kevin Morey and Jerry Goodwin to BMX Events has arrived. The trailer is owned by Jerry Goodwin who is the Manager of The Bike Shop in Books & More on the square in Downtown Moultrie. The trailer's first trip was to McDonough Georgia on June 25th 2011 where Jason, Kevin and Jerry all had First Place finishes in their respective classes.
The trailer will be a great help around the shop and at all types of events.
Books & More has trains, Lots of Trains and this fantastic Model Railroad was just added to the selection. Wow this is one nice layout. Stop by the store and get a better look, You will be glad you did
Jason and Kevin Morey Race at Chehaw BMX .
The weather was hot and humid at The Parks at Chehaw for the race which was a two moto transfer ( 2 motos and a main). Jason worked hard for a 3rd place finish in mixed class while Kevin placed a very close 4th. Next scheduled race is a State Qualifier at Sandy Ridge BMX in McDonough Georgia July 16 .

Couch to 50 K Rider Training Program
The Couch to 50 K program was a big success in early 2011 . 4 people started and 4 people finished the program which ended with the entire group riding the Tour de Tifton 25 Mile Loop on April 9, 2011. The program is designed to take a person that has not ridden in a good while or just wants to get more riding time to where they can ride a 50 K (about 33 Miles) in a day.
The program is Free and is being offered during the summer in Moultrie and during the fall and winter in Tifton. Call 229-921-0072 for details about the next session.
